They get Angler armor, sit on it, grind for enough coins to buy the final set, then just buy Shark Scale. They just wanna skip to the final goal without having done any of the work.
Instead of working towards a goal, progressively getting better and better gear, Angler, Salmon, Sponge, Shark Scale, etc. Shockingly, not many people think like this. While lava fishing is apparently the new meta ( Thanks Hypixel) I'm still happy I was able to craft it, because I had worked hard for it and that work had finally paid off. For example, recently crafted a Rod of Legends. Y'see, I like the feeling of accomplishment that comes with getting a good item I've been working very hard for over the past few weeks or even months. (Like crafting items or giving way spare "rare" drops that I already have, usually to my friends) I of course use the AH & BZ to sell stuff for money but usually those times are few and far between. I have a life I wanna live) and maybe trade with other players without like, any monetary gain. Like mentioned before, sometimes I buy really cheap items off the BZ (Primarily slayer items because. To elaborate on my playstyle a bit more, I mostly play like I'm an ironman, AKA rarely ever use the AH, BZ, or even trade goods with other players. Why do you think to just buy whatever you want? This is where I don't understand the mentality of Skyblock players. I'd say a solid amount of players just get a moderately good money grinding set, grind out a couple mil, and purchase new gear/materials they desire from the AH & BZ. However, some if not most players aren't like me, mainly because they lack any grammar to speak of, but also because they don't play like me. Sure, I might have to wait a bit longer to buy some Revenant Flesh so I can craft that DAMNED Reaper Armor so I can finally attempt Rev5, but I still need to grind out the string for it anyway.
Now, with my particular playstyle, having the AH & BZ closed doesn't affect me at all. So, with the recent closing of the AH & BZ, I've been seeing a lot of people in chat asking and sometimes complaining why the AH & BZ is closed and when they'll be reopened.
